Dr. Madjid Tavana is Professor and Lindback Distinguished Chair of Business Analytics at La Salle University, where he serves as Chairman of the Business Systems and Analytics Department. He also holds an Honorary Professorship in Business Information Systems at the University of Paderborn in Germany. Dr. Tavana is Distinguished Research Fellow at the Kennedy Space Center, the Johnson Space Center, the Naval Research Laboratory at Stennis Space Center, and the Air Force Research Laboratory. He was recently honored with the prestigious Space Act Award by NASA. He holds an MBA, PMIS, and PhD in Management Information Systems and received his Post-Doctoral Diploma in Strategic Information Systems from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He has published 11 books and over 200 research papers in international scholarly academic journals. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Decision Analytics, International Journal of Applied Decision Sciences, International Journal of Management and Decision Making, International Journal of Knowledge Engineering and Data Mining, International Journal of Strategic Decision Sciences, and International Journal of Enterprise Information Systems.

Dr. Srikanta Patnaik is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, SOA University, Bhubaneswar, India. He has received his Ph. D. (Engineering) on Computational Intelligence from Jadavpur University, India in 1999 and supervised 12 Ph. D. theses and more than 30 M. Tech theses in the area of Machine Intelligence, Soft Computing Applications and Re-Engineering. Dr. Patnaik has published more than 60 research papers in international journals and conference proceedings. He is author of 2 text books and edited 12 books and few invited book chapters, published by leading international publisher like Springer-Verlag, Kluwer Academic, etc.. Dr. Patnaik was the Principal Investigator of TAPTEC project “Building Cognition for Intelligent Robot” sponsored by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and Major Research Project “Machine Learning and Perception using Cognition Methods” sponsored by University Grant Commission. He is the Editors-in-Chief of International Journal of Information and Communication Technology and International Journal of Computational Vision and Robotics published from Inderscience Publishing House,England and also Editors-in-chief of Book Series on “Modeling and Optimization in Science and Technology” published from Springer, Germany.

Yingxu Wang is professor of cognitive systems, brain science, software science, and denotational mathematics. He is the Founding President of International Institute of Cognitive Informatics and Cognitive Computing (ICIC, http://www.ucalgary.ca/icic/). He is Fellows of BCS, ICIC and WIF, P.Eng of Canada, and Senior Members of IEEE and ACM. He has held visiting professor positions at Oxford University (1995), Stanford University (2008 | 2016), UC Berkeley (2008), and MIT (2012), respectively. He received a PhD in Computer Science from the Nottingham Trent University, UK, in 1998 and has been a full professor since 1994. He is the founder and steering committee chair of the annual IEEE International Conference on Cognitive Informatics and Cognitive Computing (ICCI*CC) since 2002. He is founding Editor-in-Chiefs of Int’l Journal of Cognitive Informatics & Natural Intelligence, Int’l Journal of Software Science & Computational Intelligence, and Journal of Mathematical & Computational Methods. He is Associate Editor of IEEE Trans. on Cognitive and Development Systems (TCDS) and the Computer Society Representative to the steering committee of TCDS.
Dr. Wang is the initiator of a few cutting-edge research fields such as cognitive informatics, denotational mathematics (concept algebra, process algebra, system algebra, semantic algebra, inference algebra, big data algebra, fuzzy truth algebra, fuzzy probability algebra, fuzzy semantic algebra, visual semantic algebra, and granular algebra), abstract intelligence (aI), the spike frequency modulation (SFM) theory, mathematical models of the brain, cognitive computing systems, cognitive learning engines, and the cognitive knowledge base theory. His work and basic studies have been across contemporary disciplines of intelligence science, robotics, knowledge science, computer science, information science, brain science, system science, software science, data science, neuroinformatics, cognitive linguistics, computational intelligence, and engineering systems. He has published 490+ peer reviewed papers and 36 books in aforementioned transdisciplinary fields. He has presented 42 invited keynote speeches in international conferences. He has served as general chairs or program chairs for more than 26 international conferences. He has led 10+ international, European, and Canadian research projects as PI by intensive collaborations with renowned peers and leading industrial partners. He is the recipient of dozens international awards on academic leadership, outstanding contributions, best papers and teaching in the last three decades. He is a top 2.5% scholar worldwide and top 10 at University of Calgary according to Research Gate’s international statistics.

Prof. Xilong Qu is the dean of School of Information Technology and Management, Hunan University of Finance and Economics, he is also the master degree student advisor for both Xiangtan University and Hunan Institute of Engineering. Prof. Xilong Qu received his Ph.D on Southwest Jiaotong University, he finished his post-doctor study in Post-doctoral Research Center of Computer Science and Technology, South China University of Technology. Prof. Xilong Qu is the young core teacher of Hunan and a member of“121” talents program of Hunan.
Prof.Xilong Qu joined 4 projects from the National High Technology Research and Development Program of China (863 Program) and the National Natural Science Foundation of China, also he led the National Natural Science Foundation of Hunan, the Research Foundation of Education Bureau of Hunan Province, China and the National Science Foundation for Post-doctoral Scientists of China for 3, 1 and 1 times respectively. Prof. Xilong Qu published 4 books 35 articles (5 articles are indexed by SCI and the rest are indexed by EI). Prof. Xilong Qu is also invited for chairs and keynote speakers of numerous conferences and forums in China.

Dr. Fatos Xhafa received his PhD in Computer Science in 1998 from the Department of Computer Science of the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC), Barcelona, Spain. Currently, he holds a permanent position of Professor Titular at UPC, Barcelona Tech. He was a Visiting Professor at Birkbeck College, University of London (UK) during academic year 2009-2010 and Research Associate at Drexel University, Philadelphia (USA) during academic term 2004/2005.Prof. Xhafa has widely published in peer reviewed international journals, conferences/workshops, book chapters and edited books and proceedings in the field (http://dblp.uni-trier.de/pers/hd/x/Xhafa:Fatos). He is awarded teaching and research merits by Spanish Ministry of Science and Education, by IEEE conference and best paper awards. Prof. Xhafa has an extensive editorial and reviewing service. He is editor in Chief of International Journal of Grid and Utility Computing and International Journal of Space-based and Situated Computing from Inderscience and member of EB of several International Journals and Guest Editors of Special Issues. He is Editor in Chief of the Elsevier Book Series “Intelligent Data-Centric Systems” is actively participating in the organization of several international conferences and workshops. Sam Kwong received the B.Sc. degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo, Buffalo, NY, in 1983, the M.A.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Waterloo, Waterloo, ON, Canada, in 1985, and the Ph.D. degree from the Fernuniversität Hagen, Hagen, Germany, in 1996. From 1985 to 1987, he was a Diagnostic Engineer with Control Data Canada, where he designed the diagnostic software to detect the manufacture faults of the VLSI chips in the Cyber 430 machine. Currently, he is the associate editor of Evolutionary Computation, the Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions On Industrial Informatics, the IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, the Journal of Information Science. He is the Head and Professor of the department of Computer Science, City University of Hong Kong. He is also the Vice President for IEEE Systems, Man and Cybernetics for conferences and meetings. Prof. Kwong was elevated to IEEE fellow for his contributions on Optimization Techniques for Cybernetics and Video coding in 2014. His research areas are in Pattern Recognition, Evolutionary Computations and Video Analytics.

Dr Wu excels in his role with The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) as a researcher with more than a decade of professional experience. Having held numerous roles with the university previously, his expertise precedes him. Previously, he was a project fellow for the RFID Solutions Laboratory, and a visiting lecturer for the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, PolyU, and the Department of Supply Chain and Information Management, Hang Seng Management College.
Over the years, Dr Wu worked closely with many industrial partners such as Towngas Telecommunications Co Ltd, Leo Paper Bags Manufacturing (1982) Ltd, Dr Kids Education Group Ltd, and Photon Int. Ltd, to support and contribute to the formulation of their business strategies, operations improvement and new product development. Dr Wu was the recipient of the Big Data Analysis Award from the China & Hong Kong Enterprise Market Development Association in 2014, and the Best Reviewer Award for a journal entitled Internet Research in 2016. In 2015, his biographical profile has been selected for inclusion in the Marquis Who's Who in the World(R) 2016.
Dr Wu holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial and Systems Engineering, and a PhD in Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering. He also holds a six sigma black belt certification from the Hong Kong Society of Quality and he contributes regularly to research papers in the areas of Internet of Things, Engineering Optimisation and Business Intelligence. In collaboration with several scholars at PolyU, Tianjin University, Sun Yat-sen University, The University of York, etc, his project works and research outcomes have been presented in 10+ international conferences and published in 30+ international refereed journals, such as Information Science, Internet Research, Expert Systems with Applications, Enterprise Information Systems, Industrial Management and Data Systems. He is also one of the authors of IoT: The Basic, Applications and Case Studies (in Chinese; ISBN: 978-986-925-960-6), and System Design and Technology of Biomedical Internet of Things (in Chinese; ISBN: 978-986-84784-7-3).
To stay at the top of his field, Dr Wu is a member of IEEE and the British Machine Vision Association & Society for Pattern Recognition, and a senior member of the Hong Kong Society of Quality. Additionally, Dr Wu serves on the editorial boards of the International Journal of Engineering Business Management, and Enterprise Information Systems. As he looks to the future, Dr Wu intends to continue researching in the field of smart logistics and manufacturing.

Prof. Yikui Zhai is an associate professor of electronics and information engineering at School of Information and Engineering, Wuyi University, since 2013. He has received Signal and Information Processing Ph.D degree at Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics(Also named Beihang University) in June 2013.His major research interests are focusing on machine learning/vision, biometric recognition, signal/video processing and statistical data analysis. I am also working on content based image retrieval. I have published over 30 peer-reviewed articles in premier conferences and journals. I won the Young Excellent Teacher Award in 2014 by provincial government.
